Privacy policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit www.knezickachalupa.cz, book a room, stay at the guesthouse or contact us, how we handle it and what rights you have under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Czech Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on personal data processing. The Czech version of this policy is binding.

2. What data we process

• Room bookings: name, e-mail, phone, dates of stay, number of guests and the message from the booking form.
• Accommodation: data required by law – guest register, records for the local accommodation tax and, for foreign guests, registration of stay under Act No. 326/1999 Coll.
• Enquiries and communication: name, e-mail, phone and the content of your message from the contact form, e-mail or phone call. Restaurant table bookings are taken by phone only.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and website visit data (cookies, see section 6).

3. Purpose and legal basis

• Handling bookings and accommodation – performance of a contract and pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Guest register, accounting and taxes – compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
• Answering enquiries – legitimate interest in communicating with guests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Analytics cookies – only with your consent given in the cookie bar (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

4. How long we keep data

• Booking and enquiry data for the time needed to handle them and then for no more than 6 months.
• The guest register and accommodation tax records for the period required by law (6 years).
• Accounting and tax documents for the period required by law (usually 5–10 years).
• Cookie consent for no more than 12 months or until withdrawn.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or share it with unauthorised persons. Access is limited to processors that operate our website, server and e-mail under a contract, and to public authorities where required by law (e.g. the foreign police, the municipality for the accommodation tax). We do not transfer data outside the European Union.

6. Cookies and third-party content

• Essential cookies – keep the website working, protect forms against spam and remember your choice in the cookie bar. They cannot be switched off.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) – anonymous visitor statistics. Stored only after you click “Accept all”.
• Map and fonts – the Contact page shows an OpenStreetMap / OpenTopoMap map and the website uses Google Fonts; when they load, your IP address is passed to the provider of that service.

7. Your rights

• the right of access to your data and a copy of it,
• the right to rectification of inaccurate data,
• the right to erasure where the purpose has ended or consent has been withdrawn,
• the right to restriction of processing and to data portability,
• the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest,
• the right to withdraw consent at any time (e.g. to analytics cookies).
